MONET's "Materials Science of Soccer" booth, staffed by researchers from three MIT labs, engaged over 250 participants (primarily ages 5-18) in hands-on materials science experiments during a 4-hour festival session, demonstrating an effective, replicable outreach model that leverages an established outreach kit to foster STEM interest among youth through real-world applications.
